The national finals of the 2026 RAICOM Robot Developer Competition (Treasure Raiders Track) were held in Hangzhou from August 16 to 17. Themed “Robots Caring for People,” the competition was organized by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and is classified as a Category A competition in China's national collegiate competition whitelist ranking system. Through competition-based learning, the event encourages students to build practical knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering, robotics engineering, artificial intelligence, control science and engineering, and related fields.
More than 100 contestants from over 20 universities and colleges across China gathered for the event. After two days of intense competition, students from the College of Mechatronics and Control Engineering (CMCE) won one national first prize (national championship) and two national third prizes. Their strong performance was made possible by the students' dedication, the commitment of their faculty advisors, and the support provided by the College and the Office of Academic Affairs in training facilities, competition funding, and other areas.
The College of Mechatronics and Control Engineering has long integrated innovation and entrepreneurship into student development. Through disciplinary competitions, the College continually strengthens students' ability to identify and solve problems and helps them translate classroom learning into engineering practice and innovation. These awards reflect the College's sustained efforts to integrate professional education, research training, and disciplinary competitions. Going forward, CMCE will continue to use high-level competitions as a platform to strengthen students' innovative awareness and engineering capabilities and to cultivate high-caliber innovative talent in robotics engineering and intelligent manufacturing.
